Traits Of A Leader
Integrity
Always tell the truth. Don't repeat hearsay.
Judgement
Apply common sense and experience.
Justice
Be impartial and consistent. Judge each situation seperately on its own merits.
Knowledge
Know your job and your subordinates.
Loyalty
Provide full support to the task at hand - even if you might not personally agree with it.
Tact
Consider the results of your comments. Make criticism meaningful not embarrassing.
Unselfishness
Avoidance of providing for one's own comfort and personal advancement at the expense of others. This is the essence of service to others.
Bearing
As a leader, subordinates look to see how you behave. Your appearance and conduct have a tremendous influence.
Courage
Means both moral and physical. Does not mean the absence of fear. The leader must recognize and over come it so that his/her subordinates will follow
Decisiveness
Make decisions promptly and then articulate them in a clear, concise, and forceful manner. Use common sense.
Dependability
Do what you say you are going to do. Attention to detail.
Initiative
Do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done.
